Former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski has released more text messages and emails showing that Hunter was close buds with a Chinese energy tycoon who had extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
A series of text messages sent by Hunter to Bobulinski on Oct. 14, 2017, reveal that Hunter had a “solid” relationship with Ye Jianming, founder of the multibillion-dollar Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC China Energy Co., which gave the Biden family a $5 million “interest-free” loan.
Hunter had bragged in these text messages that he was the “first guest” in Ye’s new apartment, where Ye cooked Hunter lunch “and we ate in the kitchen together.” Screenshots of these texts where shared with the media and obtained by The Epoch Times.
Hunter went on to explain that Ye “has me helping him on a number of his personal issues,” including Ye’s need for “staff visas and some more sensitive things.” Because of his Biden name, Hunter was able to procure many of the things Ye needed for his business.
The relationship between Hunter and Ye reportedly began as early as 2015, according to a report compiled by Republicans on the Senate Homeland Security Committee. And now, with these text messages on full display, many are wondering what Hunter was doing that may have helped a foreign enemy known as the communist Chinese regime.
Because CEFC held a rare contract to store part of China’s strategic oil reserves, Hunter’s involvement with the company and its owner are highly suspect. In addition to receiving financing from a CCP-owned bank, CEFC also had in its employee ranks a number of former top officials from state-owned energy companies.
“The company also had more layers of Communist Party committees than many private Chinese companies have,” reports The Epoch Times.
Bobulinski, who heads up SinoHawk LLC, a U.S. joint venture between Hunter and James Biden and several other business partners, had been inquiring at the time as to why Ye had not yet wired $10 million in investment money that was promised, only to get the runaround from Hunter.
As it turns out, Hunter was secretly trying to use SinoHawk as his own personal piggy bank, and once Bobulinski figured out what was going on he confronted Hunter about it, only to have Hunter get cocky and combative.
Recognizing that Bobulinski actually wanted to run SinoHawk honestly and by the book, Hunter, who was more interested in his own personal gain, decided to secure funding from Ye through other channels that Bobulinski did not even know existed.
Confidential documents obtained by the Senate Homeland Security Committee reveal that a full two months before Bobulinski confronted Hunter about the missing $10 million in funding, Hunter’s law firm, Owasco, had quietly received a payment of $100,000.
Four days after that, CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to the bank account of Hudson West III, an entity controlled by Ye. This account was then used to send more incremental payments to Hunter’s law firm.
“These payments, which were described as consulting fees, reached $4,790,375.25 in just over a year,” the Senate report states, suggesting that Hudson West III was used to launder money from Ye to Hunter.
One month after that, Hunter and Gongwen Dong, Ye’s U.S. operative, applied for a credit line that had as authorized users Hunter, James and James’ wife Sara. Each of these three was given a credit card that was used to purchase more than $100,000 in luxury items, including airline tickets and goods from the Apple store.
